Pride History

Pride of Baltimore Chorus received its SAI charter in December 1993 under director Janet Ashford, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 2009. Since 1993 the chorus has grown from 20 to 100 women. Under Janet’s direction, Pride earned multiple international medals including three 2nd Place international medals.

Pride Celebrates it's 20th Anniversary

Even a snowy day in December couldn’t stop over 100 mid-Atlantic Sweet Adelines from getting together to reminisce with old friends. Pride of Baltimore Chorus celebrated its 20th anniversary on December 9, 2013, by inviting founding, former and current members for a big bash!

The chorus honored its 20 founding members on stage with a commemorative charm and then listened as the founders sang Chordbusters! Phil Ashford (BHS, Harmonizers) stood in for his beloved late wife and Pride of Baltimore founding director, Janet Ashford. Pride’s Queens of Harmony (Signature Sound, 2000, and MAXX Factor, 2011) were honored for their accomplishments and MAXX Factor lit up the room with even more singing! Old friends (and new!) enjoyed singing, hugs and laughter in a fun-filled evening.
